Springwater Center for Meditative Inquiry in Rochester, NY
November 2-4, 2012
Tibetan Buddhism has a rich tradition of using meditation to deeply explore our inner nature. By far the easiest way to learn and practice meditation is within the container of a silent, secluded retreat in a natural setting.
This retreat is an ideal opportunity for both new and experienced practitioners to find this time away from their busy lives and gain new insight and perspective. Tulku Sherdor will teach each day, provide meditation instruction and answer questions, both in sessions and in private interviews. Meditation periods of 30-45 minutes will be scheduled throughout the day. There will be ample breaks between sessions in order to explore the beautiful paths surrounding the center. There will also be a short work period assigned to each person attending the retreat.
The registration fee is $165 per person for a double room, or $235 to upgrade to a single room (if available.) This fee includes three vegetarian meals per day starting with dinner on Friday, November 2 and ending with lunch on Sunday, November 4. The fee does not include compensation for the teacher; which will be accepted in the traditional form of dana near the end of the retreat.
Springwater Center is located an hour south of Rochester, NY on 200 acres of country land. Ride sharing to and from the retreat center will be encouraged. For those who need to, the center will allow people to stay for a daily rate before and after the time of the retreat..
